On-Site Roll Forming

The LYSAGHT® mobile roll forming mill produced 30,000 square metres of LYSAGHT KLIP-LOK 700 HI-STRENGTH® on this site where conditions were among the most challenging it has overcome.

Think of our mobile roll forming expertise as yet another design option in your hands. Extra long roof sheets can be the basis for dramatic roofscapes which simplify the building process rather than complicating it. Our purpose-built roll former puts you in charge. Are you ready for the challenge?

Our on-ground capability, where the roll-former is located at ground level anywhere on site, allows for unique site layout challenges and eave heights over 13 metres. These methods ensure BlueScope Lysaght's mobile rollformer is suitable in any situation.

As an added benefit, the rollformer is located on a trailer and is therefore quickly and easily relocatable to different points on the work site eliminating double handling and moving product large distances.

Installation speed is also optimised because of the lack of need for elaborate flashings and because roof fixers do not have to turn sheets up and down due to no requirement for expansion joints.

The unit is built on a structural cage to eliminate roller distortion and the need for time-intensive adjustments. This means that product quality and tolerances are for superior to the results from a basic roll former without a structural cage.

The BlueScope Lysaght mobile rollforming unit is managed by staff experienced at working with site trades and have a comprehensive understanding of site management and safety requirements. They even use their building industry practical experience to resolve issues such as materials handling and the size and positing of cladding packs on the roof frame.

The majority of roofing contractors in Australia have never gone beyond a roof span of 33 metres so the teams experience helps them to get on with their prime function while we assist them with the peripheral issues.

Roll-to-Roof Option

Onsite roll forming of LYSAGHT KLIP-LOK 700 HI-STRENGTH® concealed fix cladding at Nexus Industry Park at Prestons, Sydney.

If conventional on-site roll forming has widened the boundaries of roof design, then BlueScope Lysaght’s innovative roll to roof option surely puts the icing on the cake, almost literally.

The unique configuration of our versatile mobile roll forming rig allows delivery of product not only as standard onsite delivery, but the added bonus of a new impressive technique - “roll to roof”.

Our mill is the only mobile roll former in Australia with a tilt capability up to 25 degrees, whereby material can be delivered directly onto the roof via the “skybridge” to eave heights of up to 13 metres. This means savings for the fixer in terms of cranage and labour and avoids double handling of product.

With direct delivery of KLIP-LOK 700 HI-STRENGTH® to the roof there’s no need to allow for onsite storage space for roofing bundles. Space on a work site can be hard to come by, particularly for long length roof sheets so the roll to roof option eliminates these issues. Not to mention minimising costs with labour and dunnage for stacking, and crane hire and time loss for placement of roof sheeting.

The ability to easily move the mobile rollforming rig to different locations on site allows flexible delivery for any sized roof is an added benefit. Eliminating double handling requirements and requirement to move product large distances minimises the potential for product damage and promotes quick trouble free installation
