Important product update

Release date 1 August 2013

Following BlueScope’s launch of next generation ZINCALUME® steel, Lysaght has commenced supplying our unpainted product range using next generation ZINCALUME® steel AM125 where previously original ZINCALUME® steel AZ150 would have been used . Next generation ZINCALUME® steel AM125 is guaranteed by BlueScope to meet AS1397 and the ‘deemed to satisfy’ requirements of the Building Code of Australia for applications such as roofing and walling.

We are currently updating the Lysaght website and brochures to reflect this change. In the meantime, where the enclosed literature makes reference to ZINCALUME® the reader should note that this may refer to the previous version of the product.

Due to its increased corrosion performance compared to original ZINCALUME® steel AZ150, roofing applications made from next generation ZINCALUME® steel AM125 will be backed by an improved warranty of up to 36 years.*

Material Specification

The planks of ROOFTRAK® are made from galvanised BlueScope Lysaght ZINCFORM® steel conforming to AS1397-2001, grade G300, Z450 (300MPa minimum yield stress, 450g/m² minimum coating mass), with a base metal thickness of 1.2 mm (2.0 mm is subject to enquiry).

LYSAGHT ROOFTRAK® walkways may be used in cyclonic and non-cyclonic areas. For use in cyclonic areas the roof cladding must also be fixed in accordance with our Cyclonic area design manual for steel roofing and walling.

Australian Standard 1657-1992 allows a maximum slope of 20 degrees along cleated or grated walkways. For ROOFTRAK® installed at 90 degrees to the ribs, the side slope (pitch of roof) should not exceed 5 degrees.

The roof supporting LYSAGHT ROOFTRAK® must be verified to have sufficient capacity to withstand all the additional loads.

Alternative Claddings

LYSAGHT ROOFTRAK® can be used with a range of claddings. When used with LYSAGHT KLIP-LOK 700 HI-STRENGTH® and oriented in the same direction as the cladding, an additional stiffening plate must be included.
