Rainwater Products Material Warranty

Material warranties cover the material those products are made from, such as COLORBOND® steel. Some manufacturers of roofing also offer performance warranties to assure users their products will perform as expected when installed. You should talk to your supplier about the details of any performance warranties they may offer.

Warranties are available against corrosion to perforation by weathering in the natural elements, and against paint flake and peel. The sample warranties contain the full terms and conditions of the warranty and are available for download below.

Eave Gutters and Downpipes - Residential Applications

• For COLORBOND® steel residential gutters and downpipes installed prior to 04/08/2008, the warranty covers for 12 years against corrosion to perforation, and 12 years against paint flake & peel (ie delamination), for installations greater than 200m from salt marine influence. For these installations please view our page: Warranties for Installations Prior to 04/08/2008.
• For COLORBOND® steel residential gutters and downpipes installed subsequent to 04/08/2008, the warranty covers for 12 years against corrosion to perforation, and 12 years against paint flake & peel (ie delamination), for installations greater than 200m from salt marine influence, and 20 years against corrosion to perforation, and 20 years against paint flake & peel (ie delamination), for installations greater than 1km from salt marine influence.

BlueScope Steel offers a warranty with respect to COLORBOND® steel for corrosion to perforation by weathering in the natural elements for a period of up to 20 years from the date of installation. BlueScope Steel also warrants that the paint system on COLORBOND® steel will not flake or peel due to natural weathering for a period of up to 20 years from the date of installation.

Where COLORBOND® Stainless steel and COLORBOND® Ultra steel are used in their recommended environments, BlueScope Steel offers a warranty for corrosion to perforation by weathering in the natural elements for a period of up to 12 years from the date of intallation. BlueScope Steel also warrants that the paint system on COLORBOND® Stainless steel and COLORBOND® Ultra steel will not flake or peel due to natural weathering for a period of up to 12 years from the date of installation.

For residential eave gutters and downpipe applications BlueScope Steel also offers a warranty against corrosion to perforation by weathering of unpainted ZINCALUME® steel in the natural elements for a maximum warranty period of up to 12 years from the date of intallation.

This warranty only covers residential eave gutters and downpipes made from COLORBOND® Stainles steel, COLORBOND® Ultra steel, COLORBOND® steel or ZINCALUME® steel. It does not apply to fascia or box gutter applications.
