LYSAGHT® Trademarks
LYSAGHT® is a product brand and it can only be used to describe a product or product group. It cannot be used as a company name or as an operational entity.
It is:
- a product group, eg LYSAGHT® Roofing Solutions
- a product descriptor, eg LYSAGHT CUSTOM ORB® roof cladding
It is not:
- a company, eg I buy my steel products from LYSAGHT®
- LYSAGHT® manufactures steel building products.
Any use of the LYSAGHT® brand should not create the impression that the brand or product belongs to someone else.
Using the ® Registered trade mark
A trade mark is not a product.
A trade mark should always be used as an adjective (to describe the product), and never as a noun or a verb (as the name of the product). A trade mark is a brand name - it distinguishes our products form the products of our competitors.
Examples of correct use:
- "The LYSAGHT CUSTOM ORB® profile is durable" and "We sell LYSAGHT NEETASCREEN® fencing".
Examples of incorrect use:
- "CUSTOM ORB® is durable" and "We sell NEETASCREEN®.
Correct References
Trade marks must be properly referenced in each use. A trademark should be superscripted and footnoted. A registered trade mark should be superscripted with the ® symbol, at least where the mark appears for the first time in the text of promotional literature and where the mark appears prominently (such as in a heading or on a label).
The standard footnote used on all documentation is as follows:
LYSAGHT (and insert product trade mark if applicatble) and BLUESCOPE are registered trade marks of BlueScope Steel Limited, ABN 16 000 011 058.
