Benefits of VENT-A-ROOF® system now available through LYSAGHT

Lysaght has partnered with Australian manufacturer, Vent-A-Roof, to market and distribute the company’s innovative metal roof ventilation system.

An innovative passive ridge ventilation system, VENT-A-ROOF® promotes the circulation of fresh air through roof spaces, ceiling and building spaces in commercial and light industrial buildings, residential homes and most metal sheds. Functionality aside, it also offers an aesthetically-appealing alternative to traditional ventilation systems such as whirlybirds, powered vents and commercial ridges on metal roofs.

For greater reliability and durability, the VENT-A-ROOF® system has no moving parts instead utilising fundamental air flow principles to improve roof ventilation, thereby cooling the roof space and mitigating condensation, humidity, mould and mildew.

“VENT-A-ROOF® uses the exact same thermal principles as other natural ventilation systems. As the roof space heats, hot air is drawn towards the highest natural point and expelled through the VENT-A-ROOF® integrated louvre and down the pan creating a passive, natural and continuous flow of air,” explained Tony Jamieson, Lysaght’s National Specification Manager.

“Simultaneously, any positive airflow across the ridge of the roof creates a negative pressure which pulls air out from the ridge vent and brings in fresh air from intake vents in the eves or below. Essentially the two thermal effects create a continuous flow of air allowing cool air into the roof/building space and extracting hot air.”

The patent-protected VENT-A-ROOF® system is NCC and BAL-compliant and is suitable for use in cyclonic regions and bushfire-prone areas.

The system is compatible with Lysaght’s CUSTOM ORB®, TRIMDEK® and KLIP-LOK 700® profiles and is available in all COLORBOND® steel colours with two common ridge designs, roll-top or low profile folded ridge, providing an attractive and uniform look.

VENT-A-ROOF® is available nationally from all Lysaght branches and further information is available at www.lysaght.com/vent-a-roof
