For effective sealant bonding, all surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from contaminants such as old sealant or oil.
Mineral turpentine is suitable for cleaning the surfaces, but care must be taken to completely remove all residual solvent with a clean dry cloth. White spirits are a suitable alternative.
Sealant must be applied on the same day as the surface is cleaned.
